99th ANNIVERSAY OF RVSRI CELEBRATED WITH ENTHUSIASM

On the occasion of the 99th Anniversary of the establishment of Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute, the “6th January” ceremony” was held at Dr. Kaveh Hall.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed individuals from the health sector, including Prof. Abbas Shafeie, a highly respected veteran of Razi Institute, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Gooya, an infectious disease specialist, Dr. Farid Ghasemloo, an expert from "the Encyclopedia of the world of Islam," Ms. Shohreh Shahmahmoodi, a virologist and the Director of Iran National Polio Laboratory. The event also welcomed other distinguished guests and experts from Razi Institute, as well as other institutes and organizations. This celebration marks a significant milestone as Razi Institute prepares to commemorate its 100th anniversary next year.

The primary focus of this event was to honor and commemorate two remarkable scientists, Dr. Syed Hussain Mirshamsi and Dr.  Mahmoud Latifi, who dedicated their tireless efforts to establish Razi Institute as a renowned and influential institute. Their invaluable contributions have played a pivotal role in addressing critical health challenges and elevating the institute's reputation.

Taking the floor in the program to express the meaning and importance of the day, Dr. Ali Es-haghi, Director General of RVSRI, emphasized the crucial role that Razi Institute plays in safeguarding the health of Iranians, both in terms of animal and medical products. He also expressed his deep concern regarding the responsibility of passing on this esteemed institute to future generations. Dr. Es-haghi highlighted the significance of preserving the legacy and continued success of Razi Institute for the benefit of the nation's health and well-being.

As Prof. Shafeie reminisced about the prosperous days of the past, he expressed his heartfelt desire for Razi Institute to remain as resilient and robust as it has always been. He shared his hope that the institute would continue to stand firmly on its feet, just as it did in its illustrious history. Prof. Shafeie's words reflected his unwavering belief in the enduring strength and success of Razi Institute.

Dr. Mojtabi Moharammi, the event's secretary, concluded the proceedings by presenting the resolutions as  follows:

1-The importance of Razi Institute as a guarantor and guardian of the role of governance in the health of the country

2- The significance and pivotal role of the institute in passive defense

3- Necessity of historiography of the institute as a vanguard and leader in the health of the country

4- The importance of a Razi Institute in the production of biological products in the fight against biological threats.

5- Reviewing and modernizing the organizational structure of Razi Institute according to present needs and requirements.

6- Improving the institute's position in the country's health system and closer access to national planning and decision-making resources.

7-Renovation and reconstruction of Razi Institute according to modern technologies and artificial intelligence

8- Provision of specialized and experienced manpower,

9-Upgrading and restoring the previous high international position through communication with international specialized organizations such as WHO, WOAH, FAO, etc.

The event concluded with a visit to the Museum of Razi Institute.
