The WOAH Biological Standards Commission reviewed the nomination of Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ebrahimi-jam to replace Dr Hamid Reza Varshovi as the WOAH designated expert at the WOAH Reference Laboratory for sheep and goat pox hosted by Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute in Karaj, Iran.

Dr. Ali Es-haghi, the Director-General of Razi Institute, elaborated on the objectives of his recent trip to Iraq, highlighting the efforts of the Razi Institute's experts in venom extraction from local snake species. Dr. Es-haghi emphasized Razi Institute's distinguished status as the oldest center in the Middle East dedicated to producing anti-venom for venomous animals like snakes and scorpions, drawing upon almost 70 years of expertise and innovation. This pioneering work has resulted in the creation of top-tier specialized antisera and anti-venoms that annually save the lives of nearly 14,000 individuals in Iran.
Dr. Es-haghi, the Director General of the Razi Research Vaccine and Serum Institute, has announced that, after successfully exporting medical products and derivatives, the Razi Institute is now laying the foundation for exporting veterinary vaccines to Iraq.

On Monday, February 26, 2024, Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute hosted a training course for a delegate from Senegal, organized by the Veterinary Organization of Iran under the directive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to foster scientific, technological, and economic partnerships with African countries. It is worth noting that Dr. Mohammad shojaee is assigned as the supervisor of this training program.

The closing ceremony of the training course for Mauritanian veterinarian trainees took place on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023, in Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute. In the ceremony, the successful completion of the training course was celebrated, and a prestigious platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas was provided.
